2026 CNJJBBF Black Belt Gradings

The Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Fellowship is pleased to announce the addition of two new 1^st degree Black Belts, Alex Stratus and Logan Coyne, to our ranks. They successfully passed their exam at the Ottawa Honbu dojo on 30 May 2026 in front of a panel of 9 senior black belts. During their test they exhibited the core values of the Fellowhip: honour, discipline, respect and friendship. Their endurance was excellent especially helpful since the sparring element of the test is in the last hour. They demonstrated an advanced understanding of both armed and unarmed techniques with a noticable afinity for bladed weapons. Prof. Ray Zwicker, their Sensei, stated how proud he was of the effort and dedication they showed during their journey to Shodan. We expect Alex and Logan to go on to be an integral part of the future of the Fellowship.
