Sensei Mike Marshall
Sensei Mike Marshall is the son of Professor Gerry Marshall and consequently, has been exposed to martial arts from a young age, when his father used Mike to practice on, before class.
Mike started with Karate, since the Jiu-Jjitsu class was only for adults, but found that Karate did not suit him. When he was in Secondary School, he enrolled in Ninja-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu classes, and after several years of training, was awarded a First Degree Black Belt (Shodan) at a 1996 grading that was held outdoors, at Sensei Michel Leblanc's cottage.
Sensei Mike has worked with Professor Gerry Marshall for years, helping deliver seminars in grappling at numerous dojos across Ottawa, and substituting for other instructors when necessary. He has also dabbled in competition/sport Jiu-Jitsu, placing 2nd and 3rd in numerous tournaments.
Sensei Mike currently holds the rank of Yondan (4th degree blcak belt) which he was awarded in December 2004.
